How To Wear Shin Guards And Socks? (Described for Everyone)

Shin guards can be worn under your socks. Some socks are snug enough to keep the shin guards from moving, but many players prefer to use tape, stays or compression sleeves to keep the shield in place. Shin guards come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so it’s important to find the one that fits you best.

Everything is explained in that video:

Why do you wear shin guards under socks?

The shin guards that go under your socks are more lightweight. They will not make you feel fatigued or restrict your movement. Soccer players prefer wearing shin guards because they don’t have to worry about getting caught on the ground.

Do shin guards go over or under pants?

Shin guards are to be put under the socks. Push your shin guard up and past your shin and ankle. The first step in wearing shin guards is this. The next step is to put your foot on the ball of the foot pad.

You can do this by pushing your heel into the pad, or you can use your toes to do it. I prefer to use my toes, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, then just use the heel of your hand to push the pads into your feet. Once you’ve done this step, you’re ready to move on to the next one.

Why do footballers pull their socks above their knees?

According to the Laws of the Game, shin guards must be covered with socks. As most players have long shin guards that cover their legs below the knees, they need long socks to cover the entire surface of their feet.

For example, if a player has a very long shin guard that covers his entire leg, then he can wear socks that are shorter than the length of his leg. In this case, the player is allowed to wear a short-sleeved shirt with shorts underneath.

However, this is not allowed if the shorts are too short or the shirt is too long.

Where should shin guards sit?

Soccer shin guards should fit comfortably. The top of the shin guard should be positioned at least 2 inches from your knee and the bottom of the shin guard should be at least 2 inches. Shin guards that do not fit properly should be replaced.

How high should shin guards go?

You can find it just below your knee. The shin guard’s top should rest about an inch down. The bottom should end an inch or two above your kneecap. Shin guards should fit snugly, but not so tight that you can’t move your leg. If you have a tight fit, you may need to adjust the fit of your shin pads.

Do you need a sleeve for shin guards?

Generally speaking, you need to use tape or compression sleeves to keep slip-ins secure under the sock. Some socks have a snug fit that can hold shin guards in place. Slip-in shin guards should only be used for more athletic activities, such as soccer, basketball, and football.
